Obasanjo turns football match referee

TVC E. The former military leader added humour  to the South-West games of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA). The event which was held at the Moshood Abiola International Stadium on Saturday, November 26, constituted of male and female doctors In the cause of the game, there was so much to laugh for when Obasanjo handed a male player the yellow card.

It was also obvious that the 79-year-old is in-tune with the rules of the game when he showed great athleticism, as he ran after the players.

Other key attraction of the game was his excellence in handling of the game as he also awarded a penalty kick to the amazement of the spectators.

The female doctors eventually won the game which ended 2 – 1. Olusegun Mathew Okikiola Aremu Obasanjo is a former Nigerian Army general who was President of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007. A Nigerian of Yoruba descent, Obasanjo was a career soldier before serving twice as his nation’s head of state.
