Yemi Alade talks about her musical career on WakeUpNigeria

Nigerian Afro-pop singer and songwriter, Yemi Eberechi Alade popularly known as Yemi Alade [that yoruba-igbo girl] was live for a chat earlier today on your favorite breakfast show WakeUpNigeria.

The “Yoruba-Igbo” singer, while speaking with Mike revealed why her hit song “Johnny” leaked out before its release.
She said, “I went on nationwide media tour, I was promoting other singles like ‘my head o’ and ‘birthday song’. So when we got to the last city which is Enugu, we decided to have a session with Selebobo, I did a genre of high-life I’ve never done before. Before I got to Lagos, my song had leaked out.”
While explaining what prompted her to sing ‘Johnny’, she said,
“I was this RnB kind of lady, but I wanted to do something different, curiosity that led me into ‘Johnny’ movement.”
Talking about her new album, ‘Black magic’, she ensured Nigerian to expect something different.
“Black magic is beyond just music, it is infectious. On the project ‘Black Magic’ my team and I hope in touching people’s life. It is not just about me sharing the music,I want people to feel like magic is happening in their lives. Look forward to 14 hot tracks on the album, Although it was difficult to select the music in the album but I can’t wait to share.”
She finally acknowledge God, her team and family as regard her success in her career.
“God is like my power house to be sincere, I don’t think I will be where i am without God all the way. The amazing team, ‘Efizi music group’ have been there for years, my family also inspires me and my passion kept me going.”
