Suligov has since been arrested by police on domestic violence charges.
Prosecutor Ruben Martinez said that the incident happened around 11pm in Sante Fe, New Mexico.
When the friend went upstairs, she discover but never knew what had happened. When she didn’t hear from her friend, she went upstairs and found d Macarena lying in a pool of her own blood.
Her friend called the ambulance and the police who started searching for him.
After she was stabbed at her home, she was rushed to hospital where medics managed to save her life after emergency surgery lasted several hours.
She is still in intensive care at the Reconquista hospital.
After the attack, Suligov went into hiding but was convinced by his father to turn himself in to the Police which he did 2 days after the incident.
Macarena had recently taken part as a contestant in the Queen of Surubi beauty contest in the city of Reconquista, in the north-east Argentine province of Santa Fe.
