Beyoncé’s ‘Cowboy Carter’ Album Surpasses 1 Billion Spotify Streams

Beyoncé’s album “Cowboy Carter” has crossed a remarkable milestone, achieving over 1 billion streams on Spotify since its release in March. Chart Data confirmed this achievement in a post on May 7, highlighting the album’s immense success.

Upon its debut, “Cowboy Carter” topped the Billboard 200 chart with 407,000 equivalent album units sold in its first week, making it the biggest sales week of 2024 at the time. Twenty-three out of the album’s 27 tracks also entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart, bringing Beyoncé’s total Hot 100 entries to 106, making her just the 17th artist and third woman to surpass 100 entries since the chart’s inception in 1958.

Notable tracks from the album include “Texas Hold ‘Em,” “II Most Wanted” featuring Miley Cyrus, and a cover of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.” Other songs like “Levi’s Jeans” featuring Post Malone, “Bodyguard,” and a cover of The Beatles’ “Blackbird” also gained traction, with “Protector” featuring Beyoncé and JAY-Z’s daughter Rumi Carter debuting at No. 42 on the Hot 100 chart, making Rumi the youngest female artist to ever appear on the chart at six years and nine months old.

While Rumi breaks the record previously held by her sister Blue Ivy, who appeared on JAY-Z’s “Glory” shortly after her birth in 2012, Blue Ivy remains the youngest artist to appear on any Billboard chart. Beyoncé’s collaboration with Post Malone on “Levi’s Jeans” even influenced Levi Strauss & Co., with the American clothing company temporarily changing its Instagram name to reflect the song title, leading to a 20% spike in their stock on April 4, as reported by CBS News.
