Domestic Violence Against Men : Women, stop using men as your ATM – Yeni Kuti

Descendant of Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Yeni Kuti and  Marriage Counsellor, Bose Ironsi who were on TVC YourView show today spoke on ‘domestic violence against’ men said, women should stop seeing men

as their Automated Teller Machine (ATM), they should start up their own business or better still get a job to support the family as report has it that, money is one of the causes of domestic violence in a home.

Bose is of the opinion that, men should be encouraged to always speak out when ever they find themselves in trouble before it gets out of hand.

Domestic violence against men deals with domestic violence experienced by men or boys in an intimate relationship such as marriage, cohabitation, dating, or within a family. As with domestic violence against women, violence against men may constitute a crime, but laws vary between jurisdictions.

Mrs Ironsi continued by saying: ‘Relationship is partnership which involves more than one person, so the parties involve must try as much as possible to understand each other.

Recent survey report has it that, about two in five of all victims of domestic violence are men, contradicting the widespread impression that it is almost always women who are left battered and bruised, a new report claims.

Men assaulted by their partners are often ignored by police, see their attacker go free and have far fewer refuges to flee to than women, says a study by the men’s rights campaign group Parity.
