Enhance Performance: Microsoft Edge’s Upcoming RAM Management Feature

Microsoft Edge is set to introduce a new feature allowing users to control their browser’s RAM usage. This upcoming capability, discovered by Leopeva64 in test versions of Edge, includes a slider in the settings menu to adjust the amount of RAM allocated to the browser.

Primarily aimed at PC gamers, the RAM slider lets users limit Edge’s RAM usage, with options available in Canary versions to adjust RAM allocation specifically for gaming or for general browsing. However, users should exercise caution when setting lower limits, as this may impact browser performance.

While the feature is currently being tested in Canary versions of Edge, its official release date remains unclear. Additionally, the RAM slider will be included in the browser’s essentials section, alongside the existing power efficiency mode introduced by Microsoft to optimize Edge’s resource usage.
