Felabration 2024: New Logo Inspired by Fela Kuti’s Iconic ‘Look and Laugh’ Song

Felabration‘s latest announcement reveals its theme for 2024: ‘Look and Laugh,’ inspired by Fela Kuti’s iconic song of the same name from his album ‘Coffin for Head of State.’ This theme resonates deeply with fans as it critiques contemporary corruption, urging listeners to confront societal issues with humor and insight.

Yeni Kuti, the Head of the Felabration Organising Committee, expressed enthusiasm for this year’s theme, emphasizing its relevance amidst Nigeria’s economic challenges. She highlighted the festival’s mission to uphold Fela’s legacy of social consciousness and creativity, aiming to spark dialogue and action.

Felabration, an annual tribute to Fela Anikulapo Kuti’s music and activism, serves as a global hub for music lovers, activists, and artists. The unveiling of the theme and logo marks the festival’s kickoff, heralding a journey towards October’s festivities and promising a vibrant celebration of Fela’s enduring influence.

Building on previous years’ success, Felabration 2024 will feature a diverse array of activities, including ‘The Fela Debates,’ Afrobics Dance Competition, and art exhibitions. Scheduled from October 14th to 20th, the festival offers a week-long celebration of Fela’s legacy and cultural impact.
