Laporta criticized the use of VAR in LaLiga, highlighting inconsistencies and the lack of goal-line technology. He expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of standardization in VAR’s application and its impact on the league’s reputation.
Laporta pointed out that the club would take all necessary actions if the goal is deemed legal, including potentially requesting a replay of the match. This approach follows a precedent set by a Belgian Pro League match that was replayed due to a VAR error.
Barcelona were knocked out of the Champions League last week and are set to face Valencia in LaLiga on April 29. Head coach Xavi Hernandez expressed frustration with the officiating, stating that Barcelona deserved to win the match against Real Madrid.
