Olumayowa Morenike Sobamowo,

TVCE -MUSIC –  Disarming smile and free spirit are first noticeable features of Olumayowa Morenike Sobamowo, a soul singer with stage name Myoa, meaning “God brings joy” in Yoruba.

“I was created to inspire and impact certain truths and to give joy to people who listen to my music,” the Nigerian-born soul singer said.

Music has always been her first love. As early as 9, Myoa, the eldest of three children, had written her first song.

Even while studying for a degree at the University of Plymouth in the United Kingdom, she devoted much time to honing her songwriting and keyboard skills.

“I spent a lot of my spare time in my room writing music on my keyboard when I wasn’t around social circles,” she recalled.

Myoa enrolled at Hollywood’s Musicians Institute where she mastered the art of vocal performance and music production, leading to a successful internship at the world’s largest music company, Universal Music Group.Already likened to music greats like Basia and Des’ree, Myoa believes she has a strong connection with her native Nigeria and a message that will swell music-lovers.
