My colleagues casting Instagram Influencers for a movie rather than the grounded actors might be from a commercial point of view. – Emem Isong Misodi

The amiable ladies of Your View TVC had an amazing time with Emem Isong Misodi, who is unarguably one of the most respected filmmakers, screenwriters, film producers and directors in Nigeria. She has become known primarily for films in the English language and is a dominant figure in that industry.

The warm and intelligent lady spoke a lot about movies and her new film, SPECIAL JOLLOF, which will be hitting the cinemas from 14th February, 2020. The movie featured foreign actors, Joseph Benjamin, Uche Jumbo and many others.

When asked why the producers go for Instagram influencers with 4.2m followers, rather than go for the real actors with 3k followers et al, who are good actors. Emem Isong expressed herself saying that she didn’t know why her colleagues do such, but she predicted it might be from a commercial angle.

I don’t cast a particular person/people in my movie because he/she has over 10m followers and so on. I go for well grounded actors that can do justice towards interpretation of a particular character. – Emem Isong Misodi
