Petrol To Sell N340 Per Litre Next Year – NNPC Boss, Kyari

Going by the words of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) the Group Managing Director (GMD).

”Petrol will sell for between N320 and N340 per liter from February, next year.”

Kyari, who said Nigeria would be out of the subsidy regime in the first quarter of 2022, explained that subsidy would have been eliminated this year, but for certain factors that prevented it.

However, the Federal Government is planning to give N5,000 each to 40 million Nigerians, representing 40 percent of the country’s 200 million population, next year to coincide with the take-off of the subsidy removal.

In today’s episode of your view, the ladies spoke extensively on their different perspectives in regards to the fuel subsidy.

Earlier during the conversation, Nyma talked about how nonbeneficial the N5000 is to the citizens of Nigeria

“The money won’t lift Nigerians out of poverty”.

The NNPCL boss spoke in Abuja at the presentation of the November edition of the World Bank Nigeria Development Update, titled: “Time for Business Unusual.”

But, the Trade Union Congress (TUC) cautioned the Federal Government against the unilateral removal or stoppage of the petrol subsidy regime.

Tope later mentioned during their conversation that we need to trust the government and believe in their process

“We need to trust our leaders in others to be able to move forward”

“If we remove subsidy between a two year period nobody will buy fuel for #500 naira”

Morayo also mentioned that the government is taking too much control over the petroleum sector and not giving license to the private individuals that can run refineries.

“The same way we are licensing Nigerians to be farmers why don’t we license more people to have  refineries”

Do you think fuel should be subsidized?
