Seyi Vibez’s “+234” Debuts On This Week’s Billboard Charts

No, this is not a prank and popular street artiste Seyi Vibez has really debuted on the Billboard.

His first entry on any Billboard chart ever, his latest song, “234” was part of last week’s top Afrobeats songs in the US.

On a chart that’s got Burna Boy’s “Last Last” and Wizkid’s “Essence” at the number 1 & 2 spot respectively, this is quite the big deal.

Seyi Vibez, who is one of the most consistent on the streets, is also one of Nigeria’s most consumed artists representing the streets. Just last week, he was the #3 most streamed on AudioMack, behind only Burna Boy and Asake.

It’s been almost a year since his debut project, an EP called “NSNV” and the singer has now been holding it down with singles. He’s done some notable ones including “Billion Dollar” and “No Caution” with Bella Shmurda. But none quite like his new hit.

+234” is, of course, just another one of his hustle songs. Except this one has some style. From the catchy relatable lyrical content to the crowd voice on the hook. This one sounds like some effort may have been put into it.

No doubt, “+234” is a song for the streets. This is perhaps the first time Seyi Vibez is doing one for the core streets since he became a mainstream sensation last year.

Now, it turns out Seyi Vibez is not just catering for the trenches anymore. He’s now a sensation even overseas and that’s something.

With his entry on the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs this week, Seyi Vibez closes the gap between the mean streets and the global stage even more. Maybe he’ll even win a Grammy one day!
