Popular Nollowood actress, Mercy Aigbe has finally shared her side of the story on the controversial ‘red wedding dress’ she wore for her 40th birthday party.While in an exclusive interview on Entertainment Splash, she revealed that she was inactively involved in acquiring the dress
The dress which was made for a bride but given to Mercy Aigbe for her 40th birthday photo-shoot by a designer, generated negative comments from the Nigerian social media community.
Mercy Aigbe expressed her disappointment at the designer’s actions and further cleared the air by revealing that she has never met the designer. In response to the negative comments by the social media community, she said “”. ;
People are always ready to attack you if you are a celebrity, without wanting to hear your own side of the story. Funny enough, I didn’t even see the dress, I hired a stylist to do all the transactions. I don’t know the designer and I have never met her before.
She also apologised to the bride that got deprived of her wedding dress due to the designer’s unethical behaviour, she said;
First, I’d like to sympathise with the bride because the situation is really sad. I actually believe that no bride has to go through what she went through. I’d like to say sorry”.
Mercy, while on the show also revealed that she has taken legal steps to ensure that the designer does not go scot free. She added that she doesn’t want to go deep into the matter because her lawyers are on the case.
She put me in a very embarrassing situation, she must look for a way to compensate me and the bride” she concluded.
