How X-Men Apocalypse should have ended

TVC E. X-Men Apocalypse had the difficult task of following on from the excellent Days of Future Past, with director Bryan Singer also trying to bring to a close a saga he started all the way back in 2000 with the original X-Men.

The result debuted to pretty mixed reviews but audiences were generally kinder and it ended up grossing half a billion, so that’s a success by any standard and the series will most definitely continue. However it’s hard to argue that the ending was a bit of a mess, and here’s an idea of how it should have ended.

It’s easy to criticize when you’re not the one being given hundreds of millions to further a hugely popular franchise but they make some valid points, and there’s an overall cooling off on superhero cinema at least from the more critical side of things.

However as long as audiences continue to turn out in their droves, and they do even for less well reviewed films, these franchises are going to continue. And Fox has at least three new X-Men movies on the boil, including the final appearance of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in 2017, a Deadpool sequel and one based on The New Mutants.
