Airforce launches helicopter attack on illegal N’Delta refineries

The Nigerian Airforce has launched a helicopter attack on illegal oil refineries and barges in the Niger Delta, as part of the ongoing operations against crude oil theft and vandalism of pipelines in the region.


In a video accompanied by a statement released by the Air Force spokesman, the refineries and barges laden with petroleum products were sighted by a Diamond 42 aircraft on a surveillance mission in Bille Community of Rivers State.

Shortly after, an Mi-24V helicopter gunship was called-in for attack.

According to Group Captain Ayodele Famuyiwa, the operation was a success.
