Plateau insecurity : Air force set to establish Special Response Unit.

The Nigerian Air Force is set to create a special Unit to tackle insecurity and other crisis situations in the North Central zone of the country.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshall Sadiq Abubakar, disclosed this while on a working visit to the Plateau state governor.

The state is no stranger to ethnic, religious, communal as well as terror crises.

These have sent many people to their early graves, even as properties worth billions of naira have perished in the strife.

The three tiers of government have deployed several efforts to restore sanity to the home of Peace and Tourism.

To further improve on the relative peace in the state, the Nigerian Airforce says it is establishing a special response unit in Jos, the state.capital, to act swiftly to all distress calls in the zone.

Air Marshall Sadiq Abukakar says he is in the state to explore ways of improving on the security of the zone and hints that two of such units will also be situated in Gusau, Zamfara state and Owerri in Imo state.

The Chief Host is delighted to receive the good news and promptly declares the state government”s willingness to provide a befitting land for the proposed Unit.

Accompanied by the state governor, the Chief of the Air staff proceeds to the headquarters of the 330 Nigerian Air force Station in Jos where he commissions new housing units built to serve as accommodation for Senior personel of the force .

The Airforce Chief says four hundred and fifty specially trained personnel as well as 60 officers will be deployed to man the proposed Special Unit in Jos.
