They want President Buhari to direct the deployment of more policemen and other security personnel  in order to prevent more deaths and destruction of property.

The federal lawmakers are divided on recent agitation by some groups for the imposition of a state of emergency as a result of silent killings, inconducive environment for INEC officials and attacks on security personnel.

The senators also commiserated with the family of the deceased youth Corps member and other Nigerians killed in the crisis.

They asked political gladiators in Rivers to cut down on their political rhetoric, divisive language and subject themselves to democratic norms.
