Port Harcourt refinery has been restarted – NNPC

Nigeria has restarted the Port Harcourt refinery.

Spokesman of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Garba Deen Muhammad says the company which has a capacity of 210,000 barrels a day, begins operation to end fuel shortages.

Though not in full capacity, he says production will be between three and five million litres daily.

Dollar shortages and the shutdown of its refineries have for weeks left motorists queuing for petrol across the country.

NNPC said it is also planning to restart its 110,000-barrel-per-day refinery, in the northern city of Kaduna by mid-April.
