Chelsea continues to invest heavily under chairman Todd Boehly, with well over £1 billion ($1.3bn) being spent since his takeover in west London.
Despite the threat of penalties for breaching Financial Fair Play (FFP) and Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), there is no sign of transfer business slowing down at Stamford Bridge.
The latest big-money addition to the Chelsea squad is Portugal international Pedro Neto. The 24-year-old winger has been prised away from Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers. Although Neto endured injury issues during his time at Molineux, he has proven himself as a capable performer in the English top-flight.
Neto expressed his excitement about embracing a new challenge at Chelsea, stating, “I feel really grateful to have joined this club. I have worked really hard in my career to be here and I’m looking forward to getting on the pitch with this shirt.”
During his five seasons at Wolves, Neto made 135 appearances, scoring 14 goals. He now joins Chelsea as another attacking option for manager Enzo Maresca, who already has a wealth of talent at his disposal, including Raheem Sterling, Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke, Christopher Nkunku, and Cole Palmer.
