AFCON 2017 : NFF commends Super despite failing to qualify

The Nigeria Football Federation have commended Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia and his crew, in spite of their failure to qualify Nigeria for the 2017 Africa cup of Nations.

The team returned to the country on Wednesday morning, with no one on ground to welcome the players, on arrival at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja.

Most of the foreign-based professionals went back to their clubs from Cairo.

Egypt’s win means they are on the brink of qualifying for the Nations cup, after missing the last three editions.

Nigeria missed out on the 2012 and 2015 editions of the Nations cup.

Egypt sit top of group G, Nigeria remain second with two points and no chance of qualifying.

While Tanzania who are bottom of the group with 1 point stand a chance of qualifying if they win their two outstanding matches against Nigeria and Egypt with convincing results.
