D’banj, Femi Kuti, others call for women equality

TVC E, MUSIC – In commemoration of this year’s International Women’s Day, musicians across Africa have urged world leaders to act on promises to end extreme poverty faster by investing in girls and women.

Musicians such as D’banj, Angelique kidjo, Femi Kuti, Charlize Theron, Yemi Alade, Bono, and many others added their voices to the campaign in an open letter urging leaders to invest more in the education of the girl child, and also empower women.

Nachilala Nkombo, Acting Executive Director of ONE Africa, said Until leaders  invest in fighting poverty, half of the world’s resources will remain untapped and social and economic progress for everyone will be constrained’.
