Arsenal Initiates Talks with PSG for Euro 2024 Star Fabian Ruiz

Arsenal has initiated discussions with Paris Saint-Germain regarding a potential transfer for standout midfielder Fabian Ruiz, who shone during Euro 2024, helping Spain secure the title with a perfect record. The Gunners are keen to bolster their midfield this summer, especially following the departures of Mohammed Elneny and the potential exits of Thomas Partey and Emile Smith Rowe.

Duncan Castles has described Ruiz as an “obvious fit” for Mikel Arteta’s tactical approach, noting his impressive work ethic and ability to regain possession, having led the tournament in this regard. However, Arsenal currently lacks the financial resources to purchase Ruiz outright and may pursue a loan agreement similar to the one they executed with Brentford for goalkeeper David Raya last summer. This arrangement could include an obligation to buy the 28-year-old midfielder in the summer of 2025.

Ruiz has not yet participated in PSG’s pre-season activities under coach Luis Enrique, as he is enjoying an extended break after his commitments with the Spanish national team during the Euros. As Arsenal continues to explore options to strengthen their squad, Ruiz remains a key target in their pursuit of midfield reinforcements.
