British Event Rider Georgie Campbell Passes Away After Fall during Competition

In a devastating incident, a British equestrian rider, Georgie Campbell, lost her life after falling from her horse during a competition on Sunday. The unfortunate accident took place at the Bicton International Horse Trials in Devon, southwest England, where Campbell was competing with her horse, Global Quest.

Medical professionals were immediately on the scene after her fall at fence 5b, but, tragically, their efforts to save her were in vain. British Eventing, the national governing body for the sport in the UK, confirmed this heartbreaking news in a statement. Fortunately, Global Quest, the horse, was evaluated by on-site veterinarians and returned to the stable unharmed.

To respect the family’s privacy during this incredibly difficult and sorrowful time, no further details will be disclosed.

Georgie Campbell, who proudly represented Great Britain in the Nations Cup series, had an impressive career with over 200 events under her belt and six victories to her name. She leaves behind her husband, Jesse Campbell, also a horse rider, who competed for New Zealand in the Tokyo Olympics three years ago. The equestrian community mourns the loss of a talented rider and extends its deepest condolences to her loved ones.
