A Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja has granted bail to the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh, in the sum of N300m with two sureties in like sum.
The application for bail of N600m total sum was not opposed by EFCC’s prosecuting counsel, Sylvanus Tahir.
Counsel to Metuh, Onyechi Ikpeazu,had asked for discretion in favour of granting bail to his client, who is also a legal practitioner and knows the implication of being granted bail.
He prayed the court to grant his client bail on self recognition.
Counsel to the EFCC Tahir, did not oppose the application, but urged the Court to grant the bail on terms that would guarantee his presence to stand trial.
