Konka Mobile enters Nigeria’s phone market

Chinese technology firm, Konka Telecoms of China opens a shop in Nigeria with a pledge to deepen competition in the mobile phone market and give customers opportunities to experience the cutting edge technology which is associated to its products.

Konka is partnering with Mansales Nigeria Limited to establish its presence in Nigeria and start more after-sales service centers outside the one they already have in Lagos. The company during the launch ceremony said that it was using Nigeria as a launch pad to reach other African countries.

The company also introduced some of its mobile phones to Nigeria market. Konka W550 is one of the products introduced by the company in the Nigeria market.

Engr. Elens, the Chairman of Mansales Limited, the local company partnering with Konko registered her dissatisfaction with the inability of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to keep their promises. He narrated his ugly experience with some OEMs. This experience according to him left them with no other option than to establish a company that will provide mobile phones users with quality products.

Konka was the first Chinese Sino-foreign joint consumer electronics enterprise. It was established in 1980. The company according to him manufactures and distributes its own brand of products which are of top quality. Besides mobile phones, Konka is into the manufacturing of other electronics such as TV sets, refrigerators, components, air conditioners, washing machines, LCD slicing wall, digital signage and others.
