A yet to be identified woman is currently cooling her heels in a cell at the Ketu police station after she was arrested for physically assaulting her 10-year old domestic help.
Trouble had started for the little girl, identified as Happiness on Friday night, after she told her principal that she will take the portion of food left by the woman’s daughters.
But instead of granting the girl’s request, the woman reportedly pounced on her, chained her and brutally beat her up, leaving her with bruises, broken arms and wrists.
The assault would’ve continued if not for the timely intervention of a neighbour, identified by police as Taiye who later reported the matter at the Ketu police station on Saturday.
The woman is still being held in custody pending the conclusion of police investigation.
