Waking you up to an healthy breakfast is what we do on #WakeUpNigeria. Chef Miyonse in company of Lady O Mary, prepared the ‘Orange Velvet Pancakes with Strawberry Sauce’.
Ingredients:
- Flour
- Eggs
- Sugar
- Baking Powder
- Cocoa Powder
- Orange colour
- Strawberry
- Buttermilk
- Lemon
- Vegetable oil
- Vanilla essence.
Procedure:
Add 2 cups of flour, 1 cup of buttermilk, 3 1/4 cup of sugar (you can reduce the cup of sugar) , 1/4 cup of vegetable oil.
Our buttermilk is made from butter and lemon, If you don’t have a measuring cup, once you pour your milk and it isn’t thick, you can just add more flour or if its too thick you add more milk.
Mix all the ingredients: flour, butter, eggs, sugar,baking powder, orange colour, to make the batter and then make your pancake (you do not fry pancake rather you just add a pinch of oil to the pan, and spread it round the pan).
Add baking soda to make your pancake swell.
Note: cocoa powder and buttermilk is essential for velvet.
Strawberry sauce procedure:
Add strawberry juice, sugar, lemon juice in a pan or pot of orange juice (amplifies the taste) or water.
Note: Cook your strawberry sauce earlier so that it would cool down because as it cools down it becomes thick, the sugar is what thickens it.
