Flamingoes crash out of U-17 World Cup in Jordan

Nigeria’s Flamingoes rounded up a disastrous U-17 World Cup campaign in Jordan when they were trounced 3-nil by North Korea in Saturday’s final Group C match.

Striker Ri Hae Yon grabbed a hat-trick to end Nigeria’s hopes of a quarter final berth.

Nigeria failed to score a goal in their three matches and managed only a goalless draw with England to finish on 1 point.

The Flamingoes, who reached the quarterfinals in the last three editions of the competition, suffered from lack of international exposure as they did not play any international warm-up before Jordan 2017.

In the group’s other game, England came from a goal down to beat Brazil 2-1 and qualify alongside North Korea into the knockout stage.
